Scholarship Program

Lake Washington Singers is dedicated to providing scholarships to high school vocal students. Each spring the group selects finalists from a pool of applicants. The winner of the competition receives a monetary award and the opportunity to perform during our spring concert.

To apply for a scholarship an artist must submit an audition recording and complete the the application form. Forms will become available in November, 2008.

It is our privilege to introduce Lian Caspi, the winner of our 2008 Vocal Scholarship Award. This young lady is a Junior at Newport High School and lives in Bellevue. Her musical experience includes performing with Island Sound Choir directed by Cheryl Falk, roles in musicals such as Fame and Annie Get Your Gun at both high school and neighborhood theatres, and various solo and ensemble local and state high school competitions. She will be appearing as Mother Abbess in the Sound of Music later this month at Newport High School. Her voice teacher is Marianne Weltman.
