Lake Washington Singers is dedicated to providing scholarships to high school vocal students. Each spring the group selects finalists from a pool of applicants. The winner of the competition receives a monetary award and the opportunity to perform during our spring concert.

Melanie Studley received her B.A. from The Evergeen State College in Theatre/Voice/and Expressive Arts in 2005. Melanie has been a private vocal coach since 2005, teaching in Issaquah and Maple Valley. She also taught the "Singing for Musical Theater" course at the Village Theatre in Issaquah for 5 years.

This past winter Maple Valley Creative Arts Council sponsored a series of theatrical workshops, instructed by Melanie, to teach teens techniques adapted for them for serious theatrical growth in dramatic acting and stage presence for singing in musicals.

Melanie currently performs with her church music program in and around the Seattle area. She lives in Maple Valley with her husband and two sons.
