Andrea Noble Erickson
Andrea Noble Erickson was honored to win the 1996 Lake Washington Singers scholarship as a senior at Bellevue's International School. With the encouragement and tutelage of a number of excellent voice coaches and choir directors, Andrea nurtured a love of music and performance that she carried with her to higher education in Beloit, Wisconsin, the National University of Ireland in Galway, and at Lewis & Clark in Portland, Oregon.
Although music continues to be one of her passions, Andrea went on to get both a BA and then an MA in Counseling Psychology and Addiction Treatment. She now works in Bellevue with Youth Eastside Services, providing counseling to youth and families, as well as serving as a drug/alcohol counselor/educator at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, and working at Camp Mariposa with kids affected by addiction in their families. She finds continuing joy in encouraging youth to express themselves creatively, especially with music. Learn more at: www.youtheastsideservices.org
In her spare time, Andrea continues to sing opera, jazz and folk music, and be involved with Seattle's Poetry Slam scene. She and her husband Brandon -himself a singer and jazz guitarist when he's not working at medical school - hope to soon join Seattle's Gilbert & Sullivan Society. Both are deeply dedicated to community involvement, whether it be supporting local farmers at the farmer's market, encouraging local musicians by attending performances, or staying abreast of local issues around environment, education and transportation. Andrea also has a deep love of cooking, and has started her own business as an in-home gourmet caterer, specializing in multi-course dining experiences for small, intimate gatherings.
