Sandy - Lake Washington Singers, 2007 - Present

I have always wanted to sing and always have all my life. Singing to me is where you can go and just forget about your troubles and express yourself. I love just about all kinds of music.

I remember singing as a child in my bedroom which I shared with me sister. My sister, being the youngest went yelling to my mom, "I want my own room!" There are always critics.

When I was in high school my favorite subject was singing. I loved being in the choir.

As I grew up and got married and had been looking for a place I could sing for years that would take me without being able to read music. I also developed tinnitus which is a ringing in my right ear. So this makes it harder for me to hear.

One day I read an article about Lake Washington Singers in the local newspaper. So I called the director, and asked about the choir. She was so nice and invited me to come and listen. I told her about my handicaps and she said come anyway.

What a wonderful and accepting choir. And the music just blew me away.

I have been a member for three years and I have never regretted it.
