Some very sad events had happened in my life and the memories of those events were weighing heavy on my mind.

I was searching for a distraction and trying to heal when I came upon the LWS advertisement for new choir members. The first night of their practice I struggled all day with my fear of coming; changed my mind several times before finally finding the courage to show up. When I walked in the door that first night it just felt right.

Music, singing and dancing had brought joy to my life in the past so I convinced myself to show up again the next week, and that was several years ago. Some songs are a struggle for me to sing because the lyrics are meaningless but the songs with meaningful lyrics have brought me to tears. Some joyful tears and some sad but I have found that either way, I am relieving sadness, stress, and the joy I feel is very healing.
