The Company
Our Director
Jane Blount holds a BA in Music Education from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA, and
a Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
She started singing at home at the age of three, progressing from there to become a
soloist with her high school and college glee clubs, local churches and a concert choir.
Her last year in Pennsylvania was spent as a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus.
While in Salt Lake City, Ms. Blount performed in community opera productions and as a
soloist with Westminster College, the University of Utah and First Presbyterian Church.
Directing the choir at Cascade View Presbyterian Church for seven years in Everett was
her first musical escapade upon moving to Seattle in 1986.

Pianist
Lake Washington Singers welcome Tanya Otto as our accompanist beginning the Fall season of 2008. We are thrilled to have someone of her musical talent assisting us with making a "joyful noise".
Ms. Otto comes to us from Russia and currently resides in Bothell, Washington, where she teaches private piano with an emphasis on classical and contemporary music. She holds a Masters degree in music from the Ural State Conservatory in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
Before coming to the United States, Ms. Otto was a music instructor at the Tchaikovsky Music College in Russia for 17 years, preparing students for music colleges, the Ural and Moscow State Conservatories and the St Petersburg Art Academy. In addition, she taught privately there from 1983 to 2007.
Ms. Otto has written and published textbooks and program supplements for the use of faculty and students of music colleges in Russia. She has accompanied a wide variety of musical performances from ensembles and choirs to faculty and student solo and chamber recitals

Bass
Bill Campbell is a native of the northwest having grown up in Tacoma, Washington. Bill played
in band, orchestra, and sang in choirs in high school and college. He's always been a
fan of music listening, but took a long hiatus from playing instruments, starting up
again in 1999. His collection of bass instruments include the upright string bass, the
bass guitar, and tuba.
Bill graduated from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, and holds graduate degrees
from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma and City University in Bellevue. When Bill
isn't playing music with the Lake Washington Singers, an amateur combo of church friends,
or doing family activities, he's a pilot and an instructor for Seattle's Alaska Airlines.

Percussion
Tom Needham has lived his entire life in the Northwest. He lived in the Issaquah, WA area most of his life before moving to Carnation, WA in 1999. Tom began playing drums in the fourth grade. He played in the school band, orchestra and jazz band from the fourth grade through college. In addition, he played in the pit band for school musicals in high school and college. He studied for two years with Bruce Ford, a drummer from the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Tom played with the popular dance band, the Associated Sounds for 27 years, playing music for all ages. Tom has also had the pleasure of sitting in with local swing and rock bands from time to time. Since leaving the Associated Sounds, Tom plays drums during church services and with a Christian musical group from his church.
Tom began playing with the Lake Washington Singers during the 2004 winter concert season. Tom is a Fire Captain for Eastside Fire & Rescue and is assigned to the Carnation Fire Station.

Guest Accompanist
Gloria Money has accompanied Lake Washington Singers for many years. She studied piano
and organ at the University of Washington. She taught piano for 10 years and worked as
music office coordinator for the Bellevue School District for 20 years. In addition to
her office duties she has served as accompanist for competitions, concerts and
presentations. Washington Music Educators Asssociation recently conferred upon Gloria
the "Friend of Music" award for her outstanding contributions to music groups and programs
within the King County Region.
Gloria joined the Lake Washington Singers at the Festival Corearte in Barcelona, Spain
in 2007, playing a challenging pipe organ, piano, and electronic piano accompaniment.
