The Company

Our Director

Jane Blount holds a BA in Music Education from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA, and a Masters degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

She started singing at home at the age of three, progressing from there to become a soloist with her high school and college glee clubs, local churches and a concert choir. Her last year in Pennsylvania was spent as a member of the Pittsburgh Opera Chorus.

While in Salt Lake City, Ms. Blount performed in community opera productions and as a soloist with Westminster College, the University of Utah and First Presbyterian Church. Directing the choir at Cascade View Presbyterian Church for seven years in Everett was her first musical escapade upon moving to Seattle in 1986.

Pianist

Keith Ruby has been playing for Lake Washington Singers for several years. He began piano at the age of nine, practicing and performing on the organ in the sanctuary of the Methodist Church he attended. Keith attended the University of Nebraska where he studied Choral Music. His skill landed him a part-time position at a local church where he expanded his skills on the piano and organ.

Keith has also been active directing community choruses including at one point the Lake Washington Singers, as well as a men's barbershop quartet and a Sweet Adeline's Chorus. He's also sung with the Seattle Symphony Chorale, Seattle Choral Company, the Seattle Men's Chorus and the Seattle Oratorio Choir.

Most recently, Keith has been directing young musicians in choirs and performing groups. This winter, his group is performing in a Holiday Special.

Bass

Bill Campbell is a native of the northwest having grown up in Tacoma, Washington. Bill played in band, orchestra, and sang in choirs in high school and college. He's always been a fan of music listening, but took a long hiatus from playing instruments, starting up again in 1999. His collection of bass instruments include the upright string bass, the bass guitar, and tuba.

Bill graduated from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, and holds graduate degrees from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma and City University in Bellevue. When Bill isn't playing music with the Lake Washington Singers, an amateur combo of church friends, or doing family activities, he's a pilot and an instructor for Seattle's Alaska Airlines.

Percussion

Tom Needham has lived his entire life in the Northwest. He lived in the Issaquah, WA area most of his life before moving to Carnation, WA in 1999. Tom began playing drums in the fourth grade. He played in the school band, orchestra and jazz band from the fourth grade through college. In addition, he played in the pit band for school musicals in high school and college. He studied for two years with Bruce Ford, a drummer from the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. Tom played with the popular dance band, the Associated Sounds for 27 years, playing music for all ages. Tom has also had the pleasure of sitting in with local swing and rock bands from time to time. Since leaving the Associated Sounds, Tom plays drums during church services and with a Christian musical group from his church.
