'The Rhythms of Life' was the theme this spring as the Lake Washington Singers presented this exciting and uplifting concert at Bellevue Christian School June 13th.
Playing to a filled house, the singers and musicians, under the direction of Jane Blount, stepped up to the theme with much enthusiasm. Songs like 'Rock 'N' Roll Party Tonight' and 'Java Jive' and a medley from Fiddler on the Roof kept the audience wanting more of this toe tapping performance.
This year's scholarship winner, Meowset Abbett, presented the audience with Mozart's 'Non so piu cosa son' from Marriage of Figaro and a beautiful arrangement of 'I Could Have Danced All Night' from My Fair Lady. During the concert Meowset was presented with the award from LWS for her Vocal Scholarship Achievement. This is Meowset's second year of winning this monetary scholarship award. Meowset Abbett, a brilliant singer and performer, goes on to University this fall.
The Lake Washington Singers gave the audience a fun filled evening, and they are already looking forward to starting rehearsals for their Winter concert (date TBD) as well as a performance already scheduled on the Argosy Christmas Cruise on December 19th.
